Brant Howe Residential Care Home is located on the northwestern edge of Kirkby Lonsdale Town Centre. The Tree House is a dwelling which was constructed in the grounds of Brant Howe
Residential Home in 1987. The original house was set within a large garden plot with a significant sloping topography.

In 2021 DBA gained planning approval for the erection of 2 additional dwellings, a new detached garage and the remodelling of the existing Tree House within the curtilage of the existing Brant Howe Care Home and the Tree House along with modifications to the vehicular entrance from road to create a separate access between the residential development and the Care Home.
A new detached 4-bedroom dwelling has been erected to the northwestern corner of the large garden area of the Tree House (Plot 1) which has been carefully positioned to make full use of the topography whilst giving careful consideration of visual amenity to neighbouring properties.
The existing Tree House (Plot 2) has been extensively remodelled both internally and externally to improve its layout and appearance. The existing detached garage has been demolished and a new smaller garage with an adjoining office space will be constructed. The new garage will provide sufficient space for the rear garden space to the Tree House as well as maintaining space for vehicle parking and manoeuvrability.
An additional dwelling (Plot 3) has also been erected within the large rear garden area of the Brant Howe Care Home. The 1.5 storey 4-bed detached dwelling also includes a large basement area for a bar and pool table. A generous garden area has still been maintained for the Care Home.
The new detached dwellings are Eco Houses and have been built using timber frame construction with high levels of insulation. The houses also incorporate Air Source Heat Pumps and integrated Photovoltaic Panels.
